As the wheel of the year turns toward Mabon, we pause to celebrate the harvest, honor what we've cultivated, and express gratitude for all that has brought us to this moment. Join us for a 4-week Chair Acro Choreography Series inspired by the beauty of the autumn equinox, culminating in a performance at the Mabon Festival in Kirkland.
Together, we'll learn a dynamic chair acro routine that explores themes of gratitude, abundance, resilience, and harvest through expressive movement and storytelling. Whether you interpret the harvest as the fruits of your labor, personal growth, or the people and experiences that have shaped you, this choreography invites you to embody the richness of the season.
Throughout the series, we'll refine musicality, character, and performance quality while creating a cohesive group piece that celebrates the abundance we each bring to the stage.
For the performance, dancers should plan to wear attire in gold, copper, burgundy, forest green, or brown to reflect the warm, earthy colors of the harvest season. More costume details will be provided during the series.
An optional dress rehearsal will be held on Friday, September 11th, to polish the piece before our performance at the Mabon Festival on Sunday, September 13th (12:00-5:00 PM). Students will be invited to join the rehearsal once they enroll in the series.
