Get ready to really break in those knee pits in this shape-play exploration workshop working on holds and transitions that use a knee grip on the pole. Some shapes will take you upside down, but always with at least one contact point with the floor.
We’ll start with a little bit of freeform dance warm-up and then add targeted exercises to work on pushing into the ground and finding a solid knee grip. Then we’ll have plenty of time to play with a few shapes that may become your new favorites! We’ll end with group dances that will allow you to try out what you’ve learned or just let it all go in your freestyle.
You might leave with some new skin burn or pole kisses, but you’ll have a lot of fun learning these shapes that you kneed to know!
Prerequisite: Confident horizontal jasmine and genie from a standing position.
